Zahada Gillette-Pierce

Zahada (Kiersten) Gillette-Pierce is an experienced policy analyst, researcher, community advocate, and birth worker located in the Washington, DC area. Specializing in Black reproductive and birth justice, Zahada began her career as a consultant in the greater Philadelphia area working to train physicians at the five Philadelphia birthing hospitals on implicit racial bias mitigation strategies and planning. Zahada has also trained innovation and design professionals on the harmful effects of implicit racial bias in design at the B. PHL conference in 2020. She is the Founder of One Diapora Coalition, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the health and economic outcomes of continental Africans and African Diasporans. Zahada received her undergraduate degree at American University in Public Health and is currently pursuing her graduate education at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
